August 23, 2023 – Water Distribution Operations (staff re-allocation and cleanup deferral)

HWWS employs four, three-member crews who repair and maintain more than 520 miles of pipe in our water system.

HWWS crews repaired 31 main breaks over the last week. Recently, we temporarily re-assigned personnel from other departments to keep up with the increase of main breaks caused by hotter, drier weather.

And at many repair jobsites, we have had to defer ground leveling and cleanup work until the rate of breaks slows down.
